Because matcha is made from high-quality tea, and the whole leaves are ingested, it’s a more potent source of nutrients than steeped green tea. In addition to providing small amounts of vitamins and minerals, matcha is rich in antioxidants called polyphenols. Matcha has 10 times more antioxidants than regular green tea. And its polyphenol antioxidants have been tied to protection against heart disease, cancer, as well as better blood sugar regulation, blood pressure reduction, and anti-aging. Another polyphenol in matcha called EGCG has been shown in research to boost metabolism, and slow or halt the growth of cancer cells.
Because you’re consuming whole leaves in matcha, you may get three times as much caffeine than a cup of steeped tea, but still only 1/2 the amount of brewed coffee. Matcha aficionados say that compared to the caffeine buzz from coffee, matcha creates an “alert calm” due to a natural substance it contains called l-theanine, which induces relaxation without drowsiness.

The preparation of matcha is the focus of Japanese tea ceremonies, and it has long been associated with Zen. This is likely one reason it’s becoming so popular, as meditation is becoming more and more mainstream.
I believe that if preparing and sipping matcha becomes a way for you to slow down, and be in the moment, its benefits will extend far beyond the antioxidants it provides, because meditation, in any form, has a myriad of rewards. It’s been shown to reduce cortisol (a stress hormone known to drive appetite and increase belly fat), lower inflammation (a known trigger of premature aging and disease), curb impulsive eating, lower blood pressure, and boost self-esteem and compassion.

I love cooking with matcha and below I even give you a few receipt to try yourself.

Matcha Iced Latte
1 or 2 cups of almond milk
1 handful of ice
1 or 2 teaspoons of Tea's Me -Raspberry Matcha
1 dab of honey ( Mix all and enjoy)
1 Cup All-purpose flour (130g) 1 Teaspoon Baking powder ¼ Teaspoons Baking soda 2 Tablespoons Sugar (28g) 1 Egg, lightly beaten 1 Cup Buttermilk (240ml) 3 Tablespoons Butter (40g) melted, 2 Teaspoons Tea’s Me Vanilla Matcha
Matcha Buttermilk Pancakes Instructions: Measure all DRY ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt then add to bowl and whisk together. Prepare all WET ingredients: egg, buttermilk and melted butter. Lightly beat the egg then Add the melted butter and buttermilk to the mixture and whisk well. Pour the WET egg mixture into the DRY flour mixture. Stir with a rubber spatula until combined. Do not OVERMIX. Last mix in your matcha tea powder. To fry the matcha buttermilk pancake, first heat up a frying pan over medium heat. Using a pastry brush, lightly brush the pan with melted butter. Using a small ladle, spoon pancake batter onto the hot pan. Cook until bottom of pancake is brown and bubbles appear on top of pancake, about 3 minutes. Flip the pancake and cook until the other side is lightly browned, another 2 minutes. Finally, plate and add your favorite syrup or toppings and enjoy
